A Decidedly Shallow Introduction

This is just a starting point for what will become a full-fledged website. As a fledgling author with hopes of someday being published, I feel like I need a place to promote myself and my ideas, and to share my thoughts on all things literary when the mood hits.

I'm currently about a week away from total completion of my science-fantasy epic, titled The Brethren, which is about to tip the scales at 1100 single-spaced pages (before the revision process, of course). That in mind, I'd like to have somewhere on the web where I can muse about my works and the craft itself without boring the incredibly inferior masses on sites like Xanga.

For now, this brief introduction will have to suffice until everything is fully operational - mainly, as someone who abhors but uses other blog service (namely Xanga), I just wanted to check out what Tripod has to offer in comparison.
